Reposting from [livejournal.com profile] cos http://cos.livejournal.com/102534.html He cosposnsered a bill saying "The life of each human being begins with fertilization, cloning, or its functional equivalent, irrespective of sex, health, function or disability, defect, stage of biological development, or condition of dependency, at which time every human being shall have all the legal and constitutional attributes and privileges of personhood."

Full Constitutional rights for just-fertilized zygotes.
No exceptions were in the bill. Even the pill would've violated this law. -cos

I look forward to a debate between this idiotic pseudo-intellectual and the sharp-minded Joseph Biden.

Biden needs to prep and prep carefully. Ryan has done absolutely nothing in his life except prepare to destroy this country, and he is completely dedicated to this goal. He puts everything into the slightly nerdy but super-slick persona, with a friendly smile and quick wit. He comes across as very, very personable. Don't underestimate him.

We are talking about Joe Biden. He never forgets a detail.

(The Republicans were joking about Biden as a ‘gaffe machine’, never realizing that this is mainly just because he talks so much that some gaffes have to get in there now and then. :) )

This is standard Republican doctrine now. Half of our nation is insane.

You know how I feel about when life begins and I think this is ridiculous. This is obviously a play to try to outlaw legal abortions.

And so the disaster unfolds almost immediately: http://www.politicususa.com/major-gaffe-paul-ryan-eliminate-romneys-tax-shelters.html

Romney should have picked Pawlenty: takes orders, has little to say.

What rights would meaningfully apply to a zygote or even a fetus, other than protection against "assault" and the like? To be counted in the census?

Oh, my. Running a fertility clinic could be an even easier way to create a rotten borough than running a prison is.

I'm thinking: carpool lanes. Also, fire marshalls and room-occupancy limits. Pregnant women couldn't enter a threater showing NC-17 movies, of course.

Nor casinos. Nor could they go to most plays, since a lot of live theater has "no one under age 3 permitted" warnings.
