In related news, this morning I dreamed that I lived on a road that was just like Pelham Rd, in a house that was just like my old one, and that Norm Coleman lived where the Rosellis did.
Interesting - and the question of what is meant by "natural" is begged just a tiny bit throughout the discussion.
Science is perfectly capable of determining that the Earth has an age of 6000 years - or is of indeterminate or contradictory age, should that be what the data show.
Evidentiary investigation - science - is not capable of concluding that the planet came into existence ad hoc (via the supernatural, as I understand the word to mean) - only that the mechanism remained unknown.
Because the only understanding I can have of the word "supernatural" is "ad hoc event", and even that is hard to get a coherent grip on. I am not sure the word even has meaning.
