I think the Live Journal platform is superior to Facebook's for the kind of writing and interaction I want. But it's not where the most people are. So I've been putting more effort into collecting and often commenting on links I think people would do well to see and posting them on Facebook. When I have something longer to write, or something that needs more formatting, I post here rather than as a Facebook note, and a link shows up to it in Facebook.

I do still read what you all post here.

You can have LJ post all your entries to Facebook as well, you know. The mechanism kept changing (which accounts for most of my periods of failure to post to FB) but it seems to be sorted out now, and you can turn it on in Account Settings. It is possible that you can do the reverse as well, though since it isn’t in Account Settings it must be something you have to do at the Facebook end.

(Account Settings lets you set the connection to Twitter both ways, and I’m leaning towards making it go LJ->Twitter manually rather than automatically. Currently I am going Twitter->LJ automatically for the benefit of [livejournal.com profile] viric, who still reads though he doesn’t post here anymore.)

I laready have LJ->Facebook and LJ-Twitter set up. But most of what I post is links, where I' use FB's "share" functionality. And people don't always click through. So I'm finding for most things it makes sense to do it directly there. Is there a way to go in the other direction?

I hope there is, because I don't check Facebook as often as I check LJ, so I'd probably miss a lot of your posts.

I've been posting about a dozen a day for the past several weeks.

Other than maybe an RSS feed, I’d have to investigate, and I don’t feel like it. :)

The main problem with Facebook is that it doesn’t suck totally – on account of the existence of MySpace. It sucks just a bit short of that.
