MIchael Moore
Jun. 7th, 2004 12:07 amCheck out this trailer for Farenheit911. As with most of Moore's work, it would be more convincing to the non-fervent if he kept himself off camera, but it includes stuff that will likely turn even Republicans off Shrub, by casting Shrub as an arrogant elitist, undermining the image Rove has crafted. I'm looking forward both to F911 and to Control Room.

Date: 2004-06-06 11:33 pm (UTC)I used to think that Bush was in it for the money, but now I think that he was in it for the "Messiah complex." I believe the flight deck scene is an example of what Bush wants. Everywhere he goes, Bush encounters a Potemkin village that his people construct for him (and only secondarily for potential voters). His people are not "handlers," so much as "handled." Bush has them trained to do his bidding; they are his enablers. They bring him only good news, and Bush carefully avoids sources that might bring him bad news. Bush is glorious and the people adore him. He is the mighty "War President."
I really wish I could check out the trailer but it'll be Thursday at the earliest.
