Please ignore any dreck you read or hear from him regarding voter disenfranchisement (or anything else). This is just one more hot-button issue where there's real cause for concern where JRFK Jr. completely distorts facts and makes people run around like beheaded chickens.

RFK Jr. Is also big on mercury from vaccines causing autism, which has about as much science behind it as HIV not causing AIDS.

Mark Crispin Miller also has that effect, when it comes to election fraud. Back in 2006 it was almost entertaining how a confident-seeming Thom Hartmann had MCM as a guest, a few days before the election, and after the interview Hartmann was running around screaming that the sky was falling and the Democrats weren’t doing a thing about it. Okay, maybe they weren’t, but we already knew that and had accounted for it in our confident mood.

Brad Friedman seems to do a better job; he emphasizes the ‘We just don’t know’ over the ‘Ohmigod the sky is falling!’ Perhaps this is because Friedman uses exclamation points so much in his blog that inflation has destroyed all sense of panic.

(Oh, god, Hartmann is running around pseudo-panicking again today, like yesterday, about the financial crisis being a campaign trap, and how the Democrats should run around saying things that really they shouldn’t be saying. Click! Off you go, Chicken Little.)

I had a tinfoil-hat moment (and diaried about it on Kos when it happened) overnight on election night, but yah, rfkj really undermines anything having to do with voter fraud -- like the kerning letter did with TANG/Bush. Not that there's no there there, but that one person spouting falsehoods about it destroys our credibility.

(and I personally think that what I saw was just evidence that exit poll data isn't what we think it is, not that there was a grand conspiracy to shift polls in Bush's favor, tempting though the tinfoil hat is.)
