My father-in-law used to keep fainting goats for his research.
Since the Senate isn’t really firmly in Dem control, focus should have been on the House. Nancy Pelosi disgustingly thought she could buy us off with standard Democratic social policy shit. The House should be staying in ‘emergency’ session to (a) impeach Alberto Gonzales and (b)go one by one through Bush appointees and ex-appointees, issuing them subpoenas and, if they fail to respond, immediately having them arrested and brought to the House chamber for trial and sentencing.
Had Pelosi done this, she would now be a stunningly popular national hero, at least with Democratic and ‘independent’ voters. Diehard ‘Republican’ voters can go to hell.
I am profoundly concerned that Bush’s plan for ensuring that a Restoration President wouldn’t be able to end the Christian Crusade to eliminate ‘Evil’ is to attack Iran shortly before leaving office. Justice for Bush and Cheney would be harsher than punishments I am willing to endorse; but Bush and Cheney are sociopaths (of two different kinds) and thus we must direct our wrath as much as possible not at them but at the people who let them move unhindered in our midst.
Through her pretense that everything is ‘normal’, Pelosi is at serious risk of becoming a forgotten historical figure, reviled by those few who remember her, aside from the suck-ups in the conventional media, who can go to hell beside the 'Republican' voters.

Date: 2007-08-22 07:39 pm (UTC)I say we saw off DC and let it float out to sea, form a new capital in St. Louis or Denver, or better yet in the country away from Beltway systems.
